Panasonic introduces the KX-WP1050 Wi-Fi phone for use with Skype, the popular Voice Over IP communications service that allows point-to-point calling around the world. Skype users can enjoy incredible cost savings combined with the convenience of a regular phone. The KX-WP1050 frees the user from being tied down to a computer so he or she can move from room to room without worrying about missed calls. Or make and receive calls in a public hotspot, which doesnt require browser authentication. The included travel router makes it easy to take this incredible communications solution on the road. - * Easy to Use - Panasonic has taken the complexity out of making Skype calls by including a complete kit which can be set up and used by virtually anyone with little or no computer experience. The included router simplifies the set up of the Wi-Fi access point, and guarantees a secure wireless connection with automatic 256-bit AES encryption setup (WPA). The router can also be plugged into a hotel or office network giving the user a wireless connection for their laptop and the ability to use the Wi-Fi phone simultaneously. The AC adapter is compatible with all voltages from 100V to 240V, so it can be used by simply attaching the AC cord (sold separately) for a particular country. - * Secure and Convenient - This new model offers the range and security of WPA encrypted Wi-Fi technology, as well as Quality of Service (QoS) to improve voice quality. It features easy menu-driven operation, and a loud handset speakerphone, as well as a built-in headset jack for those long international calls. At just 0.62in thick, and weighing less than 4 ounces, the phone is convenient and easy to carry. The 730mAh Lithium-ion battery can provide up to 72-hour standby time, 3-hour talk time, and can be charged with the included travel router, or from a USB connection on a PC. - - - -SPECIFICATIONs ---------------------------------- - HANDSET - Calls : Skype-to-Skype - SkypeIn - SkypeOut - Conference (guest only) - Call Waiting - Skype Voicemail : Yes - Contacts List : Yes (max. 500) - History : Incoming calls (max. 20) - Outgoing calls (max. 20) - Missed calls (max. 50) - Voicemails (max. 100) - Authorizations (max. 20) - Connection Mode : DHCP, Static - Preferred Networks : Yes (max. 21, including 1 for base - unit/router). - Wireless : IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g - BASE UNIT/ROUTER- - WAN Connection Mode: DHCP, PPPoE, Static - DHCP Server : Yes (max. 5 clients, including 1 for - handset). - DNS Relay : DNS Proxy - UPnP : Internet Gateway Device (IGD) - Access Point - Connection Mode: DHCP, Static - Access Point UPnP : Basic Device - WAN Interface : (1) 10BaseT/100BaseTX/RJ45 Ethernet - LAN Interface : (1) 10BaseT/100BaseTX/RJ45 - Wireless Interface : IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g - FUNCTIONS - Codec : G.711, G.729a/b - Ringer : Polyphonic (FM 16 layer) - Ringer Type : 8 types (including 3 Skype melodies) - Ringer LED : Yes - Ringer Volume : 6 steps + off - Lighted Keypad : Yes - Speakerphone : Yes (with echo cancellation) - Speakerphone Volume: 6 steps - Pre Dialing : 20 digits - Mute : Yes - LCD : 65k colors, 1.8in TFT - LCD Backlight : White - Clock Display : Yes (year/month/date) order selectable - Time Display : Yes - Multi-Language - Display: English, Latin-1 (Contacts list only) - Proportional Font : Yes - Battery Display : 4 steps - Electric Wave - Display: 4 steps + not connected - Ear Receiver Volume: 4 steps - Key Lock : Yes - USB Port : Yes (mini USB) - Contacts : Yes (display contact list of Skype) - Navigator Key : Yes - POWER SOURCE - Handset : Li-Ion battery (3.7 V, 730 mAh) - Base Unit/Router : (AC Adaptor) Input : 100-240 V AC, - 50/60Hz - Output: 6 V DC, 1.5A - DIMENSIONS - Handset : Approx. 5-9/16in w x 5/8in h x 1-3/4in d - Base Unit/Router : Approx. 1-7/32in w x 2in h x 5-53/64in d - WEIGHT - Handset : Approx. 0.22 lb. - Base Unit/Router : Approx. 0.33 lb.
